Norwegian for beginners

If you are completely new to Norwegian, start with A1. At this level you need clear speech, lots of repetition, and meaning you can see on the screen while you listen. Your first two weeks

Week one: watch one beginner-friendly video a day, read the dual subtitles aloud once, and finish the matching worksheet. Week two: add a podcast episode with the transcript open, pause often, and write five sentences about your day using words you recognised. Keep sessions short — twenty focused minutes beat an exhausted hour. When A1 videos feel easy, move toward A2 using the level guide.

What beginners should not worry about yet

You do not need perfect grammar explanations before you start listening. You do not need to live in Norway. You do not need live tutoring on day one. You do need daily contact with real Norwegian sound. That is what the beginner materials prioritise — and why the teaching method centres on dialogues and culture instead of textbook drills alone.
